Kathleen S. Peindl

Dr. Peindl is an Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Duke University Medical Center. She has conducted research for 20 years in women’s mental health and substance abuse.

Dr. Peindl received her BS degree from Westminster College in 1968 and her Master’s in Microbiology from Duquesne University in 1972. She received her PhD degree in Alcohol and Drug Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the University of Pittsburgh, Graduate School of Public Health in 1993. She was a Fellow for the National Institute of Alcohol and Alcoholism at the University of Pittsburgh.

She has worked in research at Western Psychiatric Institute, Case Western Reserve University and Thomas Jefferson University. 

Dr. Peindl is a member of Phi Sigma, an honorary society in Microbiology and is a recipient of Excellence in Leadership award from Case Western Reserve University. She also was nominated for the Glennan Teaching award from Case Western University. She is Who Who among American women 1999, 2003, 2004. 

Dr. Peindl is a member of the Marce Society, The American Association of Public Health, Spiritual Directors International and the Orange County Public Health Service Corps. She has presented research papers both in the United States and in Europe on research related to postpartum depression, is author of one book chapter and a contributor to a second one.
